Only two international schools from the whole of Great Britain were selected for the first European exchange of this kind. From these two selected schools, a very narrow selection process took place for special students. Out of these two schools, thirty-two students were given the privilege to take part in Dialogue 2000. The two selected schools were : Dartford Grammar School and The Anglo-European School from Ingatestone. In
France, Strasbourg was selected to send students to England. So the Lycée
International des Pontonniers selected thirty motivated
English-speaking students. Strasbourg was a key-city to hold this
event due to the existence of some European institutions in that town
(for example the European Parliament). Two years of preparation was necessary to organise and perfect the success this unique experience had to offer. When the autumn of 1999 came, many hours of preparation finally went into use when the French colony flew over the White Cliffs of Dover into Great Britain… |
